Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The statistics of an item are improved by upgrading it, also known as "upping". Each upgrade increment boosts the stats linearly.

Players can recycle six items at a time to get a gauge of the upgraded component of each item. The cost of recycling items increases according to their rarity and level.

Upgrade components

A level upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can boost the stats of your weapon and armor. This can be accomplished in a variety of ways, including by using upgrade components or by increasing the rarity of an item or its mark level. A lot of items can be reforged to increase their stats.

Upgradeable items can be found in the game, both within the world and as rewards for missions. They can also be created by players. Upgrade components are the primary method to upgrade equipment. These are the items that can slot into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with slots that can be upgraded, and many require a specific level of upgrade. Some upgrade components give specific bonuses while others provide an overall bonus.

There are a variety of upgrade components that are available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. The universal upgrades, such as gemstones and enchantments can be placed on any type of equipment and offer lower bonuses than equipment-specific upgrades. Glyphs are only available in gathering tools. They offer a range of bonuses, ranging from increasing the speed of an item's gathering to providing extra crafting material.

Choose the item from your inventory, and then open the Upgrade window. The preview will appear on the right hand side of the screen. It will display the expected stats following the upgrade. The Upgrade button at the bottom will show blocked if you don't have enough of either.

The upper-right corner displays the amount of upgrade components required for a particular item. The cost of an upgrade increases depending on the upgrade level and rarity, however it can be reduced using many different methods, including purchasing upgrades from a retailer or trading them to other players.

Most weapons can be improved with a prefix, like a rune or an insignia, and others can be enhanced with the suffix. These upgrades alter the name of the item and add an adjective, for example "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor. There are some exceptions, however. the non-inscribable wands, the shields and foci from Prophecies and Factions campaigns, that cannot be upgraded using any kinds of mods.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be a powerful tool for communicating visual information. They animate to capture the viewer's attention and spur curiosity in the brain. The glyphs' animation mimics body language, which makes them more effective in communicating the message across linguistic barriers. Glyphs can also trigger a feeling of familiarity in the brain, which increases retention of the message.

item upgrades  increases the value of a stat by a specific amount. This is clearly displayed on the item, when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This is the maximum value that the glyph can improve a stat by but not the amount it actually increases it by. The value of the glyph is contingent on the tier as well as the quality of the item that you are enchanting.

The majority of upgrade components that are slotted into items are not able to be repaired or replaced without dismantling the equipment in question, unless it is legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a rune or glyph you don't want to use but it hasn't been applied to the gear yet, you can transfer the item to a different piece by selecting the Upgrade Glyphs menu on the Glyphs Panel. This will create a new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

If you are looking to remove a glyph from an item you must salvage it with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. The item on which the glyph is placed will be destroyed, however the upgraded item can be retrieved by removing the glyph fragments.

When you take away an item after adding a glyph, the shards of the glyph will vanish. You can also add a glyph to your equipment to give it an additional benefit. For instance, the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and deal it slowly rather than all at once. This can be helpful for players who take lots of damage from their enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens can be used to change the affixes that are placed on weapons and other equipment. They can be obtained from many sources, such as mystery boxes or rare drops from skulled monsters or by killing bosses. Each reroll token grants the player a brand new random affix, which is usually better than the original one. Reroll tokens are also a great method to reroll the stats of a weapon, which can be upgraded to increase damage or perks.

Rerolled items don't appear on the menu for upgrade options, however they can still be upgraded. If you click the "upgrade button", you can recycle the recycled items. This will alter the appearance of the window for the item and let up to six items be selected to recycle. The level gauge is boosted by recycling an item. This amount is determined by the rarity of the item and its level, which means items with higher levels are more useful to recycle than lower-level ones.

Players can also make use of Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to reroll Weapon Traits for upgraded units. Rerolls will determine the  percentage chance of a weapon trait. If it rolls higher, the weapon will be upgraded. If it is lower, the weapon remains unchanged. Weapons can be upgraded up to 3 times.

Rerolls are a great option for upgrading an item, but users must be aware that it can reduce the overall ilvl the weapon based on the number of rerolls used in order to increase it to the final level. This lowering effect is most effective on Diadems and rings that do not have any other options for raising ilvls.

The reroll system has been criticized by players for being too expensive, and it would be more reasonable to let players pay for it with money or a food item that would allow players to alter their build without a lot of time and energy. The developers have no plans to introduce paid rerolls at this point in the game's development. They are planning to add an ingredient that allows players to change their race in the near future.

Leveling

There are a number of ways to boost the value of an upgrade to an item. The first way to level up an upgrade for an item is by increasing the upgrade amount. This increases the upgrade value for any stat. The second option is to increase the effect of an upgrade, which boosts the healing or damage for an individual stat. Additionally you have the option to upgrade the base item to a more powerful upgrade type. The new item will retain its iLevel but have the upgraded effects of the upgraded item.

When you upgrade items it is essential to remember that upgrades are random. In most cases a better roll is based on the glyphs. However there are occasions when a greater or special roll could occur. In addition the iLevel of the upgrade will be determined by the type of item which means that when you upgrade a unique or rare item to a unique type it has a chance to achieve an increased iLevel.

The cost of upgrading items can be expensive especially when you're upgrading a piece of equipment from a standard to the legendary track. The price will depend on the item's iLevel base and the amount of upgrade levels it has. Some upgrade tracks also require crests to be completed in order to move on to the next level.

If you're lucky the upgraded item will reach the maximum level of its upgrade track and gain an additional benefit. This will provide the item with a significant upgrade value. The bonus effect will vary with each upgrade level, however. In general, the effect of upgrading is increased a value of +3.

The iLevel also changes depending on the item's upgrade path and its base level. For instance the weapon that has been upgraded from a rare or unique item to an extraordinary item will be able to get the Enhanced Defense of the base item type.
